Hugh Stacey, BA (Hons)
Managing Director

Hugh joined Augentius in April 2007 and has since headed up the Private Equity New Business team in Europe, becoming Director in May 2009.  He has worked with a wide range of clients from Corporates to Start-Ups covering Buy-Out, Infrastructure, Venture Capital and Fund of Funds.  In April 2010 Hugh was appointed Managing Director of Asia.  His responsibilities include Client Relationship Management, New Business and operational oversight.  He also sits on a number of Augentius entity Boards.  Prior to Augentius, Hugh held the rank of Captain in the British Army where he was responsible for 60 soldiers.  Hugh graduated from University of Leeds where he gained a BA (Hons) in History.  He also holds an Investment Management Certificate and a licentiateship in Man Management.

Matthew Corbin, BSc. (Hons), Dip (ITM) TEP
Director

Matthew completed his professional STEP examinations in International Trust Management and became a member of STEP in 2004. Previously employed by H M Foreign and Commonwealth Office, he also served overseas with the Diplomatic Service as an Attaché. He studied Information Management at University College London, in which he gained a BSc. (Honours) Degree.

After a brief period with Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited, Matthew joined Nerine Trust Company Limited, in Guernsey, working in Nerine’s Special Projects Department administering structures for HNWI’s in the form of managed and private trust companies. Matthew moved to Hong Kong in December of 2006 to start a new venture between Nerine and The AFP Group. Nerine Trust Company (Hong Kong) Limited is the technical consulting and marketing arm of Nerine and AFP for all fiduciary services in the Asia Pacific region.
In 2008 Matthew also joined Augentius as the Director of the newly incorporated Hong Kong office.

J.P. Harrop, BBA CA
Managing Partner

J.P. became a Managing Partner of Augentius Fund Administration on completion of the MBO in August 2006, having joined Ansbacher Fund Services in 2002. Prior to this he worked with The Bank of Bermuda Limited based in Bermuda, where he was a Vice President responsible for a team of 27 fund accountants and investor relations staff servicing a Private Equity, Fund of Funds and Traditional Funds client base, providing accounting, administration, share registration, custody and related services.

J.P. is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, having qualified in 1993 after articling with Coopers & Lybrand. He was educated at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario where he received an Honours Degree in Business, majoring in Accounting.

Barry P.A. Carroll, BA (Hons) ACA CIM Dip.
Senior Partner

Barry became Senior Partner of Augentius Fund Administration on completion of the MBO in August 2006, having joined Ansbacher Fund Services in April 2002 as Global Head of the business. Prior to that he worked with Bank of Bermuda, initially as Managing Director of Management International (Guernsey) Limited ("MIGL") Bank of Bermuda's Guernsey-based fund administration company, and latterly as Vice President and Group Private Equity Product Manager based in London.

His previous roles included Chief Executive of Butterfield Fund Managers (Guernsey) Limited where he was responsible for developing Bank of Butterfield's corporate trust and fund administration business globally and at KPMG where he specialised in providing professional services to offshore fund management groups, trustees, custodians, banks, trust companies and offshore insurance companies. Barry is a director of a number of offshore fund management companies and investment funds.
